Ancient City of Loulan in Xinjiang

The Ancient City of Loulan in Xinjiang is very important in the Chinese history. The Ancient City of Loulan in Xinjiang is located towards the northeast of Ruoqiang County in the Xinjiand Uygur Autonomous Region. The disappearance of this city is considered to be an unsolved mystery in the Chinese history. Till know the archaeologists have reached to the conclusion that some natural disaster may have struck the city which had wiped its existence.

Because of this mystery, the Ancient City of Loulan in Xinjiang is visited by a large number of people visit this place. It is said that a kingdom was established in the Ancient City of Loulan in Xinjiang in 176 BC. It is said that the city used to have a population of around 14000 people among which around 3000 were soldiers. The people living there had fishing and hunting as their livelihood. The city was also known for to trade in items like silks, tea, fruit, jewels and many more things.

Though it developed as an important city, the Ancient City of Loulan in Xinjiang suffered a lot due to some kind of natural disaster. These are normally termed by archaeologists as deforestation, sandstorms, changing of the course of the river and many more things. Even today also, the region is extremely hot and humid. The climate is so extreme that is also known as Death Sea.

After a lot of excavations, the archaeologists have also found a large number of tools made of stone as well as jade, stone arrow heads as well are found here. Other than this, large number of manuscripts of the Han dynasty has been also found here. Moreover pottery, bronzeware, glassware, ancient currency, silk are also found here. Because of this, this place is also known as Treasure Land of the Desert and Museum Left by History.

Tourists are always recommended to bring water, warm clothes, required medicines, tissue papers, hand wipes and eye drops as well. It is also recommended that the visitors should travel in groups.
