With its location on 22º North latitude, the climate of Hong Kong is sub-tropical. The climatic conditions in Hong Kong are similar to areas with temperate weather conditions. - Spring: Spring in Hong Kong lasts from March to the middle of May. With 82% humidity, average temperature in Hong Kong during spring in 23º C.
- Summer: The summer climate of Hong Kong is very hot and humid. It lasts from end of May to the middle of September. Humidity is 80% and average temperature is 28º C. However, on hot days the temperature may rise to 33º C.
- Autumn: Hong Kong experiences moderate climate during autumn. With 72% humidity, average temperature is 23º C.
Hong Kong faces frequent tropical cyclones during the period from July to September. On an average there are approximately 31 tropical cyclones in Hong Kong during this period. Some of the cyclones acquire great proportions and become as destructive as cyclones. On an average the climate of Hong Kong is mild and never too harsh.
